unit 18

After completing my program I have to explain why and how I did the program. For my evaluation I will be asking myself some question like how accurate and the time it took.

All test work fine there are no problems and if there were ever going to be any problems then go to the technical and user documentation to use what has gone wrong. All tests have been tested by me the programmer and have also been tested by an external person. They used all the functions a feature of the program and told me that there were no problems. They said it ran smoothly and fast and they were able to add as many records as they pleased. When I tested the program the only thing I would improve and add would be a clear all button, where all the information about the employee could be cleared except the information on the list box. 

For example when the user has to enter new information about a new employee they have to back space to clear the information, but with a clear all button it would be much easier and very fast.

The program matched completely as all the requirements were meet and there are no errors or problems when running the program. I designed the overtime which was to longest thing to do as it made me think more and had me confused for long time, but then I realised how to construct it.

The strengths of the program are the list box and how all the information of the employees can go in the list box and can be saved and the user can put as many employees’ details in as well. Another strength is the overtimes it counts the overtime of all employees and adds it in a separate part in the list box. I don’t think the program has any weaknesses as of the requirement were meet and has design 100% accurately.

I have the knowledge of using different variety of programs on the computer with this course I am doing which is IT practitioners BTEC national. Also I had reached my target which was to complete all my coursework on time and complete them to distinction level. I have tried and put good amount of effort in doing the tasks I had been set. Furthermore my skills of using the computers and making databases, spreadsheets and other stuff has improved my skill level has been going up because of my perfect attendance and my punctuality to lesson and listening to the teachers very carefully also by receiving instruction of the teachers in how to use different programs and how to meet the criteria’s in my coursework. In addition I have identify and looked at a variety of programs such as visual basics. I have improved my skills thanks to the lessons and teachers that helped me to improve in my vocabulary in using the new terminology in the IT industry.

My goals are to do well in my coursework and get a distinction or merit in all my work, and pass this year to enter year 2. In two years time I would like to go university and study ICT because I enjoy doing ICT and also I have learnt a lot about computers and programs and I am interested to learn more and more.

In my research notes that I have gathered for this assignment, I have descibed in depth the various types of threats to my college's computer system and database. I have transmitted this information in publisher to hand out as a leaflet and present a powerpoint presentation on 2 specific threats associated with unauthorised access to the information on the college's system.

I have also incorporated in my leaflet the 4 threats to the college's information which I believe to be most relevant. I have described the impact these threats could have on the college and to it's service users, so that staff can fully understand the severity of these threats.

I have also described and illustrated the measures that staff could put in place to minimize and reduce the risk of damage to information such as adding passwords, cctv cameras, electronic fingerprint recognition, lock and key security, visual telecom and voice recognition. 

Referring back to my notes I produced a security plan explaining the possible security issues that exsist within the college's systems. I identified the threats and the impact of the loss of various resources together with countermeasures that could be used against these threats.
